West Virginia Basketball: 4 scenarios that can come from entire Bob Huggins saga
In an offseason that has gotten a bit quiet via the transfer portal, Bob Huggins and West Virginia Basketball have completely filled up the content void, though I doubt Mountaineer fans find anything funny about what’s going on.
It’s been repeated how we got to this point but I’ll do a quick recap. Coach Huggins first got in trouble when he made some inappropriate comments regarding Catholics and the LGBTQ+ community. That got him in hot water and nearly cost him his job.
And just weeks later, Huggins was allegedly found in his car drunk, with a blood alcohol level three times the legal limit in a vehicle registered by the university. He didn’t survive that weekend, having to resign from the job. However, there has been some disagreement as to whether or not he actually did leave the job, with the lawyers on both sides now involved.
On Monday, representatives for Huggins say that he himself, didn’t resign and that he’s still not only an employee of the school but is trying to get back his West Virginia Basketball head coaching job. The school has replied, saying he did leave and that they have evidence of so.
This latest chapter in the Mountaineers drama has the chance to throw the program into turmoil for the future, as well as potentially impact what the roster may look like going forward. This situation can go in a number of different directions. Here are four specific scenarios that can come from this.
