Oregon Ducks

The Ducks are a team that had originally landed Arizona State transfer Devan Cambridge this offseason as its veteran wing but he opted to defect and join Texas Tech instead. There are still options on the wing, including JUCO transfer Jadrian Tracey and a pair of five-star incoming freshmen, KJ Evans and Mookie Cook.

With freshman Jackson Shelstad likely running the offense, it makes sense to add a veteran ball-handler like Perez to the rotation. It’s going to be a completely different Oregon roster no matter what and it’ll be fairly young as well. So a 6th-year sense to balance that out to replace Cambridge is a good plan if it works out.

Xavier Musketeers

The Musketeers lost its key wings this offseason in Colby Jones and Adam Kunkel and is now without returning combo forward Jerome Hunter, who is out indefinitely with a medical issue. He was set to start either at the three or four-spots but now, there’s plenty of open space at a position Perez plays at.

Xavier has been looking for another ball-handler as well to pair with Western Kentucky transfer, Dayvion McKnight. All of the guards on the current roster aren’t proven at the Big East level so adding an insurance policy like Perez makes sense. The only question is how long Hunter is out because if he returns and the transfer guards play well, the minutes available would then slim.
