CAA Basketball: Ranking of 25 best players from last decade (2013-23)
By Joey Loose
1. Justin Wright-Foreman
A 6’2 guard from Queens, Wright-Foreman certainly made fans remember him for his time in the CAA. He arrived on campus at Hofstra in 2015 and left four years later with impressive statistics, a few records, and many contributions to Pride basketball. He actually was just a bench piece as a freshman, but that minor role wouldn’t last long.
Despite only starting for half the season, Wright-Foreman averaged 18.1 points per game as a sophomore, but that was just the beginning. He’d increase that figure to 24.4 points a game during his junior year. His senior year was the ultimate experience. Not only did Wright-Foreman lead Hofstra to the CAA regular season title, but he had three 40-point games, made 43% of his 3-pointers, and averaged 27.1 points per game for the Pride.
One of the nation’s best offensive players, Wright-Foreman was named CAA Player of the Year as both a junior and senior. He led his league in most relevant offensive figures and metrics and scored over 2300 points in his career. His individual figures were off the chart as a senior, it’s just a shame that Hofstra fell short of getting him to the NCAA Tournament. Regardless, it’s not hard to call Wright-Foreman the most impactful CAA player of the last decade.
