19. Jordan Roland

Roland is a 6’1 combo guard originally from Syracuse and another player who took an indirect path to stardom in the CAA. He actually began his playing career at George Washington back in 2015, spending two seasons in a limited role for the Colonials. Emerging as a talented shooter, he decided to transfer for better opportunities and landed at Northeastern. Those opportunities would come.

As a junior, Roland worked his way into a major role in the lineup, averaging 14.6 points, including a 35-point outburst against Harvard early in the year. More importantly, he helped lead the Huskies to the NCAA Tournament, with a few nice performances in the CAA Tournament that year. As a senior, he was now averaging 21.9 points per game, with another season around 40% from outside the arc. The pandemic canceled the postseason, but Roland was a machine all year long, scoring a combined 81 points in the first two games of the season.

At times, Roland looked unstoppable on offense, and was named First Team All-CAA for that dynamic senior season. He led the conference in points, effective field goal percentage, and free throw percentage and played a major role after his transfer. Clearly, his decision to transfer to Northeastern paid off in a major way, especially with that trip to the Big Dance that came in 2019.
