18. Indiana Hoosiers

When it comes to overall starpower in NCAA Basketball, the Hoosiers lost one of the biggest in Trayce Jackson-Davis, a perennial 20 and 10 big man. Plus, former five-star point guard Jalen Hood-Schifino is now with the Los Angeles Lakers after getting picked in the first round of the NBA Draft.

But along with a couple of key transfers, Indiana scored in the 2023 class with Mackenzie Mgbako, a five-star prospect that was originally from Duke. He de-committed from the team after several freshmen elected to come back to the Blue Devils and was the top incoming freshman available.

The 6’8 forward is one of the top overall athletes, which should translate on both ends. Considering that the team added Oregon transfer Ke’lel Ware and still has another former five-star player in forward, Malik Reneau, Mgbako is likely going to play mostly at the three-spot. As long as he can consistently make three-point shots, that shouldn’t be an issue.

And don’t overlook incoming four-star guards, Gabe Cupps and Jakai Newton. After missing out on a couple of shooting guard options in the transfer portal, look for Newton to have a shot at a key spot in the rotation, while Cupps will backup veteran starter Xavier Johnson for one year before potentially taking over as a future start afterward.
