14. Ahmad Caver

A 6’2 point guard from Atlanta, Caver played a major role while at Old Dominion for four seasons. He was a limited contributor as a freshman, but spent three seasons as the Monarchs’ starting point guard, making great contributions on both sides of the ball as the program achieved success.

As a sophomore, now in the starting lineup, Caver averaged 13.0 points and 4.8 assists per game. He had a 30-point outing at Fairfield as a junior, helping the Monarchs to a 25-win campaign. Senior year was the real magic for both Caver and Old Dominion. He averaged 16.6 points and 5.5 assists per game and led the Monarchs to CUSA regular season and tournament titles. His career would end with a 19-point performance against Purdue in the 2019 NCAA Tournament.

Caver played a major role in those final seasons at Old Dominion, finishing among the league leaders in assists in each season. He was First Team All-CUSA in his upperclassman seasons and found a spot on the All-Defense team as a junior, finishing 12th in the nation in steals. His senior year was a marvelous effort both on his part and for his team, with Caver playing every minute of Old Dominion’s last four games and keying them to the Big Dance.
