18. Trey Freeman

A 6’2 combo guard from Virginia Beach, Virginia, Freeman began his collegiate career in 2011 at Campbell. He was Big South Rookie of the Year as a freshman and put up some great numbers during two seasons with the Camels, but transferred after a coaching change. He landed at Old Dominion, playing a pair of seasons for the Monarchs and emerging as an even brighter start in the CUSA.

During his junior year, Freeman averaged 16.9 points per game and made a major splash with the Monarchs. He put up 25 points in a win over LSU early in the year and had a triple-double during the program’s run to the NIT semifinals, punctuating a 27-win season. Freeman’s senior year was even more potent, averaging 22.1 points and 4.2 rebounds per game. He dropped 42 points on Western Kentucky in the CUSA Tournament, though Old Dominion settled for the Vegas 16, winning that postseason championship.

Freeman was First Team All-CUSA for each of those two seasons and actually led the conference in total points both years as well. Only two players in the entire nation outscored him during his senior year, and he accumulated 1429 points in just those two seasons at Old Dominion. He was a major addition to the program and blossomed into one of the best scoring guards in the CUSA.
