NCAA Basketball: Analyzing 10 early contenders for Kansas transfer Marcus Adams Jr.
We’re in July of the NCAA Basketball offseason, which in a way, turns the page of looking toward the 2023-24 campaign. For a brief period, all of the top-100 ranked incoming freshmen had settled on a landed spot for the upcoming season. But there were players that de-committed.
Kansas was a team that suffered a couple of departures. First was four-star combo guard Chris Johnson, who is now at Texas. And the latest exit is Marcus Adams Jr., a four-star wing that played his high school ball in California. He’s known as an outstanding pure scorer and good rebounder as well, who originally was in the 2024 class before reclassifying.
With his intention to leave Kansas coming this late, I believe this counts as a transfer rather than a natural de-commitment. So that would mean that this will count as his one-time free transfer and would have to sit out the next time he leaves a team. But Adams is now available and there are 10 teams that reportedly have reached out, spaning out throughout the country.
Which of these 10 programs makes the most potential sense for Adams? Here’s a look at how he’d fit with each of them.
Binghamton Bearcats
The America East program stands out for not making a lot of sense to even be involved with a four-star prospect. But there’s a chance that they get involved due to NIL, which may have played a role in landing Syracuse transfer, Symir Torrence. Getting Adams would be a massive boost for the Bearcats and he’d instantly become one of the top players in the conference starting next season.
