Kentucky Wildcats

The Wildcats have a pair of five-star freshmen guards on the roster, DJ Wagner and Rob Dillingham. Both of them are likely to be around for one year, leaving behind a potentially wide-open backcourt for someone like Fland to run the offense.

In the ideal scenario for Kentucky, they’d find a way to land both Fland and Tre Johnson, currently the No. 1 overall recruit in the 2024 class. Fland would have to be sure that he’ll only be around for one season himself, as the program is reportedly set to go after both Darius Acuff and Meleek Thomas, a pair of five-star ball-handlers for 2025.

Maryland Terrapins

Maryland is in a similar position to Indiana when it comes to knowing it needs to replace its starting point guard. Jahmir Young has just one year left and the other options on the roster are currently Jahari Long and LMU transfer, Chance Stevens.

Coach Kevin Willard is certainly focusing on recruiting locally, which is why they’re in position to possibly land five-star big man, Derik Queen. But he still has ties to the New York area due to his past stint at Seton Hall and Fland would be a nice fit to his style of play. Plus, he’d be the starting playmaker for the Terrapins for as long as he’d like.
