NCAA Basketball Recruiting: Analyzing 5 teams in play for 5-star Jayden Quaintance
There are a number of five-star NCAA Basketball prospects in the 2025 class that has the chance to reclassify to move up a year. One player where there’s been talk about moving up is Jayden Quaintance, a consensus top-15 overall prospect in 2025 but now in 2024.
The big man from Phoenix, Arizona currently plays in North Carolina and has been a star on the AAU circuit this offseason. He’s a 6’10 and 230-pound big man capable of playing both the power forward and center positions and has a quality offensive game, both inside and out.
Reportedly, the Kentucky Wildcats have been viewed as a favorite for Quaintance but there are other programs still getting involved. According to an article by Travis Branham of 247sports, there are four other schools that are in the mix to get a visit. Here’s a look at who is involved and the potential fit for the big man.
Cincinnati Bearcats
The Bearcats got bad news this week when five-star prospect Flory Bidunga announced a final four group that excluded them. So it makes sense that they pivot to another top-tier big man in Quaintance, who could join them next season.
Cincy already has four-star forward Tyler McKinley in the class and could use a center too. The team has Viktor Lakhin, Jamile Reynolds, and Ody Ougama entering their senior seasons, along with UVU transfer, Aziz Bandaogo. To make sure they aren’t without depth, they could use Quaintance, who’d start for them out the gate.
