Jackson McAndrew is the top class of 2024 NCAA Basketball prospect in the state of Minnesota. Which teams are in the running to land him?

One rising prospect in the 2024 NCAA Basketball recruiting class is Jackson McAndrew. He’s a 6’8 power forward that’s capable of spacing the floor with his three-point shooting. But he’s capable of scoring inside and can rebound at a high level as well.

247sports now has McAndrew ranked as a top-100 prospect overall and there’s a chance he can climb even higher. Now, we know which programs are truly in the mix, with a list of just four programs.

Which of them makes the most sense? Here’s a closer look at McAndrew’s potential fit with each of them.

Creighton Bluejays

With Arthur Kaluma gone, the forward position will come down to Virginia transfer Isaac Traudt and redshirt freshman, Mason Miller. Both have four years left of eligibility and aren’t viewed as early pro prospects. McAndrew’s style does fit Creighton’s offensive style well but there’s going to be a logjam at that position right now.

Notre Dame Fighting Irish

The Irish’s rebuilding roster has a few new frontcourt players, including Penn State transfer, Kebba Njie. There’s also Carey Booth, a four-star incoming freshman that’s capable of playing both center and power forward. Tae Davis of Seton Hall is also around and has multiple years left. Still, McAndrew’s spacing ability is needed on the future roster for Notre Dame, and would have a chance at getting minutes early.

Wisconsin Badgers

Wisconsin’s frontcourt is one of the oldest in NCAA Basketball, including 5th-year senior, Tyler Wahl. It’s open once he’s gone after next season and there’s a chance that McAndrew can be the new starter as an underclassman. His floor spacing would be different than what the Badgers have had and having both he and Connor Essegian on the floor would be dynamic for their offense.

Xavier Musketeers

Two of Xaviers’ projected starting forwards next season are Jerome Hunter and Zach Freemantle, both of whom are in their respective last years of eligibility. So there’s definitely going to be room for McAndrew if he were to pick the Big East program.

The Musketeers have four-star guard Jonathan Powell in the 2024 class but now need to focus mainly on the frontcourt. McAndrew would be a nice pickup to join him and add a good stretch option to replace the likes of Jack Nunge, who was highly successful with them in the past two years.
