One of the top class of 2024 NCAA Basketball from the state of North Carolina is Austin Swartz. He’s a consensus four-star prospect, ranked in the top 50 overall, according to 247sports. Listed at 6’5 and 180 pounds, Swartz has great size for a shooting guard and is known for being an all-around offensive threat, capable of scoring at all three levels.

Swartz has updated his recruitment, with eight programs now in the mix. And with local powerhouse North Carolina not being one of them, it feels like a wide-open process where any of these teams could win out.

Here’s a look at how Swartz would fit with each of the eight teams.

Clemson Tigers

The Tigers have a number of senior guards on its roster next season. Projected starters (Joe Girard, Alex Hemenway, and Chase Hunter) have just one year left of eligibility, while Air Force transfer Jake Heidbreder is entering his own senior campaign. It’s a stop where Swartz would get plenty of minutes out the gate and likely start. The one topic that could affect Clemson is the status of HC Brad Brownell, who may be on the hot seat entering next season.

Florida State Seminoles

The Seminoles’ two key scoring guards for next season are Darin Green Jr. and La Salle transfer Josh Nickelberry, both of whom are entering their last years of eligibility. And with Chandler Jackson currently suspended and Jeremiah Bembry having transferred out, there’s certainly a lack of backcourt depth. Swartz would be a nice offensive presence for FSU and pairing him with Georgetown transfer Primo Spears would be tough to deal with for the rest of the ACC.
