18. Cedric Kuakumensah

Kuakumensah is a 6’9 forward from Worcester, Massachusetts who was another solid basketball player at Brown. The Bears didn’t have a plethora of success in the last decade but had some pretty solid pieces in the program and Kuakumensah is another example. He played for the Bears between 2012 and 2016, meaning we’ll start our deep dive in his sophomore season.

He was a great rebounder and shot-blocker for his entire career. As a sophomore, he had a 30-point, 14-rebound, 7-block performance at Cornell and played in the CIT a few weeks later. His scoring numbers jumped as an upperclassman, averaging 11.2 points as a junior and 14.0 a game during his senior season. He nearly averaged a double-double in his senior year and had a couple more 7-block games as well.

His presence as a rim protector earned him Ivy League Defensive Player of the Year honors in his sophomore season. He was named Second Team All-Ivy the following two seasons and remained a major presence on the defensive side of the ball. Not only was he one of the best rebounders in recent memory in the league, but Kuakumensah also led the league in blocks in each of his four seasons. Suffice to say, he was a natural paint presence while at Brown.
