25. Jordan Washington

A 6’8 center from Jamaica, New York, Washington got his collegiate start at Indian Hills Community College, leading that junior college to all sorts of success. After those two impressive seasons, he transferred to Iona, taking his game to the next level with the Gaels. He spent his final two years of eligibility in the MAAC and would dance to end both years.

As a junior, Washington averaged 14.2 points and 6.4 rebounds per game. He’d have a double-double in the MAAC title game victory and put up 26 points and 12 rebounds in the Gaels’ tourney loss to Iowa State. Senior year was even more fantastic, as he’d average 18.0 points and 7.6 rebounds a game to lead Iona in both categories. A few weeks after a 38-point outburst against Rider, he led Iona to another MAAC Tournament title and scored 22 against Oregon in the NCAA Tournament.

Washington was a major part of a very successful decade for the Gaels, earning First Team All-MAAC honors and MAAC Tournament MVP as a senior. His contributions were impressive, as he’d lead the league in 2-point field goals, field goal percentage, and several efficiency metrics in that final season. Washington lived the dream of playing two great games in the NCAA Tournament and was certainly the frontcourt weapon his program needed.
