21. Dimencio Vaughn

A 6’5 wing from New York City, Vaughn had what was certainly a unique experience in his own career. He arrived at Rider in 2016, redshirting his freshman season after getting limited run early in the season. After three very solid years with the Broncs, he transferred to Ole Miss after the pandemic. After barely playing with the Rebels, he went back to Rider for his bonus season, his sixth year in college.

Our focus is clearly only on his years in the MAAC, but that was certainly the best of his years. As a redshirt freshman, he average 16.1 points and 6.7 rebounds and had some of his best shooting numbers. He led Rider to the MAAC regular season title and scored 25 points against Oregon in the NIT. Vaughn was a great scoring threat throughout his time with the Broncs, and bounced back nicely in that senior season, with 12.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per game.

Vaughn was named First Team All-MAAC as a freshman and junior before leaving for the SEC. His return was smart, as he’d lead the conference in steals and get All-MAAC honors for a third time. Vaughn’s numbers across the board were impressive and he was a major part of that 22-win campaign during his redshirt freshman year. He won’t wow you with these shooting numbers, but Rider doesn’t have that same success without him.
