17. Justin Moss

Moss is a 6’7 forward from Detroit who began his collegiate career at Indian Hills CC in 2012. After a season there, he’d transfer to Buffalo, joining his former high school coach Nate Oats, who had recently been hired by the Bulls as an assistant. Moss was a major piece for two great seasons for the Bulls, though he was kicked off the team following his junior year.

He actually didn’t factor in much as a sophomore, playing just a few minutes off the bench. This made his development and step forward as a junior even more impressive. Moss averaged 17.5 points and 9.2 rebounds per game, helping lead the Bulls to MAC regular season and tournament titles. He had a number of double-doubles and a career-high 33-point effort against Toledo late in the year, turning into quite the offensive star for the Bulls.

The league’s top scorer and rebounder in 2015, Moss was named MAC Player of the Year as a junior. Buried away at a junior college just two years earlier, he showed major strides in his career and truly became the premier frontcourt weapon in the MAC. Unfortunately, he was kicked off the team before his senior season for stealing money and would not continue his collegiate career anywhere else. Regardless, that final season alone in Buffalo is worthy of mention.
