5. Charles Williams

Things haven’t always been great for Howard in recent memory, but they had a fantastic backcourt weapon in Williams. A 6’6 wing from Richmond, Virginia, he arrived in 2016 and would become one of the league’s most potent offensive players for the next four seasons, with the team in pretty decent shape early in his career.

As a freshman, Williams averaged 15.6 points a game and became a major contributor right away for the Bison. He was over 20 points a game as a sophomore, but Howard’s best season as a team was during his junior year. Williams helped lead the Bison to a 3rd place finish in the conference and had another hot-shooting season. He would average right around 18 points a game in each of his upperclassmen seasons and had nearly a dozen 30-point performances in his career.

Williams actually earned All-MAC honors in each of his four seasons with the Bison, including Rookie of the Year as a freshman and First Team honors the next two years. His 2404 career points made him the MEAC’s all-time scoring leader. His contributions were clearly significant and his legacy will live on for decades as one of the conference’s best offensive players of all time.
