We have another top-tier class of 2024 NCAA Basketball prospect making a decision, as Tyler Betsey is reportedly down to seven options. He’s a consensus high four-star prospect, with 247sportsComposite ranking him in the top 30 overall.

Betsey’s size and versatility are what make him such as appealing prospect. He’s a 6’8 forward, capable of playing both the small and power forward positions. He’s a capable shooter and good defender overall so there will be some “3 and D” comparisons at the college level.

The native of Windsor, Connecticut has had plenty of interest for a while but as mentioned, it’s down to seven teams. And there’s some good competition here so expect this to be a contested recruitment.

Here’s a look at how Betsey would fit with each of the seven possible options.

Alabama Crimson Tide

Betsey is just one of several top 50 prospects Alabama is after if you’ve been following the list of many others. Just among the forwards, Robert Miller, Zion Sensley, and Jalen Shelley are also considering the SEC program. But it’s understandable why players are interested in a program that under Coach Nate Oats, has been one of the best in NCAA Basketball.

Still, the addition of Jarin Stevenson, a former five-star prospect that reclassified to play this upcoming season, creates a potential logjam. Even if North Dakota State transfer Grant Nelson is only around for just one year, there are still two other top-100 freshmen frontcourt players on the roster in Sam Walters and Mouhamed Dioubate. So Alabama likely can take only one forward in the 2024 class; we’ll see if Betsey is that guy.
