NCAA Basketball Recruiting: Analyzing top 7 teams for top-30 forward Tyler Betsey
Cincinnati Bearcats
Cincy has an interesting roster from the standpoint that they have bigs that can play the power forward spot and some big guards who could be at the power forward position. Yet none of them are true forwards in the way that Betsey is, not even class of 2024 commit, Tyler McKinley.
With guys like Simas Lukosius and Viktor Lakhin now entering their 4th years, the Bearcats have to make sure they have capable forwards on the roster as they’re now in the Big 12 and need top-50 talent throughout the roster. Although not as big a name as other options on this list, Cincinnati can offer Betsey the earliest time and biggest role on the offense out the gate.
Creighton Bluejays
The Bluejays actually recently landed a forward in the 2024 class in Jackson McAndrew, a four-star combo forward prospect. He’s more of a pure shooter that can play the four-spot so assuming that Betsey can play mostly at the three, this wouldn’t be an issue for the program to take on both guys.
Plus, the path to playing time at Creighton for Betsey lies at the three-spot. Starting small forward Baylor Scheierman is leaving after next season and unless incoming freshman Sterling Knox is a breakout future star, this recruit in question could very well start for the Big East program in the 2024-24 campaign.
