TCU Basketball: Breaking down 2023-24 non-conference schedule
TCU Basketball has made leaps and bounds on the hardwood in recent years. In 2022, the Horned Frogs won an NCAA Tournament game for the first time in 35 years. Last year, they won another.
Whether Jamie Dixon’s squad can do it for a third straight year is an open question. There’s a lot of significant rebuilding to be done in the wake of this spring’s departures, but the Horned Frogs did a good job on both the recruiting trail and in the transfer portal.
The first chance the newfangled Horned Frogs will have to test their mettle will come in non-conference play.
How will the TCU Horned Frogs perform during their 2023-24 non-conference schedule in their eighth season under head coach Jamie Dixon?
Before the season starts, TCU has an exhibition game against Texas Wesleyan at Schollmaier Arena. It will be a chance for fans to check out the 2023-24 iteration of the roster.
No loss is more acute than the draft departure of Mike Miles Jr., one of the best players in recent program history. He placed on the Second Team All-Big 12 list twice and has caught on with the Dallas Mavericks. Damion Baugh and Eddie Lampkin Jr. are among the other exits from Fort Worth.
But Dixon brought in some great transfers, including Avery Anderson III and Ernest Udeh Jr. from rival Big 12 schools, as well as Jameer Nelson Jr. Returning, meanwhile, are Emanuel Miller and Chuck O’Bannon Jr., the latter of whom is entering his seventh season of college basketball.
Let’s take a deeper dive into TCU’s non-conference schedule.
