Three-star NCAA Basketball prospect Colin White is reportedly down to five options. Which of them makes the most sense when it comes to playing time?

Another prospect to announce a list of options is Colin White, a consensus three-star recruit in the 2024 NCAA Basketball class. He’s one of the best players out of the state of Ohio, listed at 6’6 and 180 pounds. White is a good shooter and overall athlete and is a power conference-level talent.

There are five teams in the mix to land White, including a couple of local options. Here’s a closer look at how the three-star prospect would fit with each of them.

Butler Bulldogs

In a complete roster rebuild, the Bulldogs have a ton of junior guards on the roster, including Jahmyl Telfort and DJ Davis. Freshman guard Finley Bizjack is the lone non-veteran perimeter player so there’s a need for White to bolster both the depth and have the new core ready once those veteran transfers are gone. And there should be early playing time available as well.

Cincinnati Bearcats

The Bearcats are moving to the Big 12 and there are some roster additions that need to be made. They have four-star freshman Rayvon Griffith likely to get a ton of minutes, along with Butler transfer, Simas Lukosius. How good are both Josh Reed and Dan Skillings Jr. play on the wings will play a big role in what White can expect here if he picks Cincy,

Northwestern Wildcats

The Wildcats recently landed four-star prospect KJ Windham, a combo guard in the 2024 class. They’ll need to continue adding players to make up for the future losses of Boo Buie and Princeton transfer Ryan Langborg, who’ll make up a ton of the offensive production next season. This is another option where the path to playing time is there for White.

Ohio State Buckeyes

Coach Chris Holtmann has a good history with developing freshmen but on paper, there’s a clear logjam for White. At his position are top-60 wings, Devin Royal and Scotty Middleton, along with redshirt freshmen, Bowen Hardman and Roddy Gayle Jr. Although it’s a local option, there are some cons to consider here when it comes to playing time.

TCU Horned Frogs

TCU doesn’t have any commits in the 2024 class but they do have a pair of key freshmen wings on the roster in Isaiah Manning and Jace Posey. Assuming neither are pro prospects yet, that could create a logjam for someone like White if he picks this option. But for a team that has really struggled in the shooting department in the past couple of years, the Frogs could really use someone like White.
