Gicarri Harris is a four-star combo guard in the 2024 NCAA Basketball recruiting class. Which teams are in the mix to try and land him?

Another NCAA Basketball prospect that recently announced a list of options was Gicarri Harris. The Loganville, Georgia native a consensus four-star recruit, ranked in the top 100 by 247sports. Listed at 6’4 and over 180 pounds, Harris is a legit off-ball target with good size and scoring ability and should make an immediate impact at his college stop.

But which team will it be for Harris? Here’s a look at how he’d fit with each of the six potential landing spots.

Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets

One of the top local targets for the Jackets, Harris would be part of the new backcourt core for new coach Damon Stoudamire. Lance Terry, Miles Kelly, and Kowacie Reeves are all upperclassmen, while Ole Miss transfer Amaree Abram is a potential pro prospect. If he wants to stay home, GT is a viable option for Harris to join.

LSU Tigers

The Tigers’ backcourt is mostly upperclassmen, with both Jordan Wright and Trae Hannibal leaving after next season. Santa Clara transfer Carlos Stewart is a junior so even if he has a big year, Harris would only have to play behind him for one year. LSU is after other shooting guards in the 2024 class but right now, the path to playing time in the future is clear.

Miami Hurricanes

Everyone knows about the Hurricane veteran guards Nijel Pack and Wooga Poplar but there are other guards looking for more playing time next season. Jakai Robinson and Christian Watson are former four-star prospects, while Paul Djobet and Kyshawn George are incoming international freshmen. And since none of them automatically has to leave after next season, there could be a big-time logjam to deal with.

Purdue Boilermakers

The sophomore duo of Fletcher Loyer and Braden Smith will likely be around for three more years, which will create an instead backcourt logjam. Plus, Purdue not only has freshman Myles Colvin joining but already has a pair of commits in Jack Benter and Kanon Catchings in the 2024 class. It’ll be tough for Harris to get playing time unless he’s a breakout star.

Stanford Cardinal

The Cardinal have a trio of senior starters on the perimeter next season in transfer Jared Bynum, along with guards Michael Jones and Spencer Jones. That leaves incoming freshman wing Andrej Stojakovic and plenty of playing time available for class of 2024 commits. Harris would get a ton of playing time at this spot.

Virginia Tech Hokies

The starting backcourt duo of Sean Pedulla and Hunter Cattoor likely are gone after next season, as well as transfer Mekhi Long. Although Rodney Rice and Michael Collins could be potential breakout candidates, look for there to be real potential for playing time for Harris, who could excel in this offense.
