Marcus Allen is one of the top NCAA Basketball prospects out of the state of Florida. Which programs are in the mix to land the forward?

The state of Florida is usually filled with quality NCAA Basketball talent each year. That includes the 2024 recruiting class, featuring Marcus Allen. He’s a 6’6 combo forward prospect and a consensus four-star in all of the recruiting services.

A decision is set to come for Allen on the 7th and there are six teams in the mix. Here’s a closer look at how he’d fit with each of the options.

Arkansas Razorbacks

Allen is exactly the type of forward that Coach Eric Musselman likes to recruit at Arkansas. He landed two similar players from the portal this offseason in Denijay Harris and Chandler Lawson, who each only have one year left. Of course, it’s hard to tell what kind of roster Allen would be joining right now but the Hogs would find a way to use his skillset and get him on the court.

Miami Hurricanes

The Hurricanes don’t have a lot of depth in the frontcourt, as FSU transfer Matthew Cleveland is likely to play at the undersized four-spot. And former top-100 recruit AJ Casey will have to chance to be part of the rotation but Miami needs more. Allen could be the next Jordan Miller for the program and there definitely would be playing time available.

Michigan Wolverines

The wing position is the biggest need for Michigan, especially if incoming transfer Nimari Burnett is only around for one year. Since the team also is losing both Olivier Nkamhoua and Tray Jackson after next season, Allen can come in and have a big impact out the gate for the Big Ten program.

Missouri Tigers

Missouri is set to lose both Noah Carter and Jesus Carralero from the forward positions and the others on the roster, including former top-50 prospect Aidan Shaw, aren’t proven. It’s certainly an option where Allen could get big minutes and unlike at Arkansas, wouldn’t have to worry about getting over-recruited.

Ohio State Buckeyes

The Buckeyes do have a pair of top-60 freshmen forwards joining them in Devin Royal and Scotty Middleton. So even once Jamison Battle leaves, there’s a potential logjam for Allen to deal with as a future freshman. However, Ohio State always loses a freshman or two early to the pros and that could happen here as well.

Stanford Tigers

While going through the uncertainty of conference realignment, Stanford also needs to get more talent in order to be competitive, wherever they’re at. They did bring in top-50 guard/wing Andrej Stojakovic but will need more once they lose seniors, Spencer and Michael Jones. Allen would get plenty of minutes here, but the conference stuff now is a dark cloud for the program.
