Greg Dolan – 6’3 Guard – Loyola Chicago Ramblers

The Loyola Chicago Ramblers got a warm “wake-up call” to the Atlantic 10 last season after finishing in last place with a disappointing 4-14 record in conference play and 10-21 overall.

While it was a frustrating performance for Drew Valentine’s Ramblers last season, the program retains its star talent, Philip Alston and Braden Norris. Last season, Alston led the team in points (14.6), rebounds (5.6), and blocks (1.1). Despite the team’s 72-67 first-round loss to Saint Joe’s in the A-10 Championship, he posted 18 points and ten rebounds.

Not only is the 6-foot-6 forward returning to the program healthy next season, Loyola Chicago will be welcoming an impressive incoming class. The Ramblers will welcome four transfers who all provide veteran leadership and years of experience from their previous school.

Last season, 6-foot-8 senior forward Dame Adelekun averaged 13.8 points, 7.2 rebounds, and shot 56.3 percent for the Dartmouth Big Green. While Adelekun could immediately impact and provide a massive upgrade within the Ramblers’ frontcourt, we can expect Cornell guard Greg Dolan to exceed expectations.

The 6-foot-3 senior guard averaged 13.3 points, 3.6 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and shot 42.5 percent from three in 28 games with the Cornell Big Red last season. He scored in double figures in Cornell’s first five games but posted a career-high 29 points in a road loss to Penn on Feb. 4th.

Davidson guard Desmond Watson and Oral Roberts forward Patrick Mwamba will join Dolan and Adelekun to complete Loyola Chicago’s incoming class. The Ramblers’ impressive offseason recruiting-wise makes a strong case to be considered a contender in the Atlantic 10 as early as next season, showing they are hungry to make an NCAA tournament appearance soon.
