1. Alex Morales

After starting his career at Prince George’s Community College in Maryland, Wagner proved to be an extremely valuable player at Wagner, arriving at the school in 2019. A 6’6 wing from Paterson, New Jersey, he’d spent three great years with the Seahawks, taking advantage of the bonus season from the pandemic, and would be a major weapon for head coach Bashir Mason in the process.

Wagner struggled during Morales’ first season on campus, but he became valuable right away, averaging 13.6 points and 5.8 rebounds per game with a decent shooting stroke. His final two seasons were far more impressive, leading the Seahawks to an NEC regular season title as a senior, and to a 21-6 mark during his final season. He even had a triple-double against St. Francis PA in his final NEC Tournament, a high point of a season where he averaged 17.6 points and 8.0 rebounds a game.

Both of his final two seasons ended with Morales named the NEC Player of the Year. With impressive scoring, rebounding, and steals numbers, he was an all-around monster for the Seahawks. He was also named NEC Defensive Player of the Year in his final season and contributed towards a lot of wins for Wagner. Morales truly stood out as the very best in the NEC and his arrival truly lifted Wagner towards those two great seasons, though it remains a certain disappointment that he never got his shot at the NCAA Tournament.
