NCAA Basketball: 5 best options for No. 1 class of 2024 prospect Cooper Flagg
When it comes to the future NCAA Basketball recruiting classes, all eyes have recently been on the 2025 class, which features several future stars. That includes both the Boozer brothers (Cameron and Cayden), as well as previously, Cooper Flagg. He’s a 6’9 power forward out of Maine, who has been viewed by some as a generational prospect, thanks to his two-way game.
This Summer during the Nike EYBL Peach Jam, Flagg was sensational. He averaged an incredible 25.4 ppg, 13.0 rpg, 5.7 apg, as well as nearly seven blocked shots a game. The forward can shoot the ball at a high level, facilitate the offense and impact the game with his interior defense.
Flagg was already viewed as the top prospect in the 2025 recruiting class and had around a dozen offers. However, due to his age, he was also eligible for the 2025 NBA Draft if he decided to reclass and move up a year. And that’s what he made official on Friday.
With the news that Flagg is set to play in NCAA Basketball a year from now, expect his recruitment to jump. He recently took an unofficial visit to Duke, who offered Flagg a few months ago. And there are other programs reportedly in the mix to land him as well.
While there’s no official list, I took a look at the viable programs that have recruited Flagg so far (sorry Maine) and made a top-5 group that could realistically land him. Here are my own power rankings for the new No. 1 overall prospect.
