Kansas State Basketball: Wildcats get crucial late pickup in Ques Glover
Kansas State Basketball has been after a guard in the past couple of months. They finally were able to land one in former BYU commit, Ques Glover.
Coach Jerome Tang has already developed a reputation for being able to land impact transfers later in the offseason compared to others. He did it last year with Keyontae Johnson, who ended up being an All-Big 12 player. This time around, the team was able to land Ques Glover, a transfer from Samford.
Glover is a 5’11 guard that originally started his career at Florida. After two years without much production, he transferred down a level to Samford in the SoCon. He ended up breaking out in the past two seasons, averaging 19.2 ppg and 4.4 apg as a junior, before producing 14.7 ppg and 2.1 apg in 19 games last season, having dealt with injuries as well.
Glover is a scorer that’s an okay shooter but likes driving to the basket and getting to the free throw line. How his size translates will be key to watch as he moves back to the power conference level. It was supposed to be at BYU, where Glover committed earlier this offseason. But in the past week, he de-committed and became a free agent.
He’s still in the Big 12 but Glover will be playing for Kansas State, instead. He joins another impact transfer in Tylor Perry, the former Conference USA Player of the Year at North Texas. The backcourt depth was a bit thin after losing Desi Sills, Markquis Nowell, and Tykei Greene. Cam Carter is back, with the team adding a pair of incoming four-star freshmen guards, Darrin Ames and RJ Jones.
It’s a completely different roster that the Wildcats will be using next season and with four newcomers to the league, the Big 12 is going to be even tougher from top to bottom. The team will need as much talent as possible in order to succeed and the addition of Glover will help with those matters.
