NCAA Basketball Recruiting: Analyzing 5 teams in play for top-50 Vyctorius Miller
Vyctorius Miller is one of the top pure shooting guards in the 2024 NCAA Basketball recruiting class. Which programs are in the mix for him?
We’re at the part of the NCAA Basketball recruiting calendar where players are announcing and going on respective visits to potential teams. One of them is Victorius Miller, a 6’4 shooting guard and consensus four-star prospect. He’s a pure shooter and scorer but also can handle the ball a bit as well.
Miller currently resides out west, which explains why a few of his reported visits set are from that coast. But without an official visit out yet, his recruitment is still wide open. But for now, let’s look at the programs that currently have his attention the most right now.
Gonzaga Bulldogs
The Bulldogs have four guards on the roster, including a pair of freshmen in Dusty Stromer and Luka Krajnovic. How good they are remains to be seen, while projected starter Nolan Hickman is someone to watch when it comes to his future role. Gonzaga is reportedly after five-star PG Zoom Diallo but if they miss out on him, Miller would make plenty of sense.
Kansas Jayhawks
The Jayhawks added a pair of shooting guards on the roster this offseason in Nicolas Timberlake and Arterio Morris. Timberlake has to leave after next season, while Morris is viewed as a future NBA prospect. Kansas is looking for at least one guard in the 2024 class and assuming they’re not in the mix anymore for five-star prospect, Tre Johnson, could offer Miller a role early on.
LSU Tigers
The Tigers have been after a number of shooting guards in the 2024 class besides Miller. They’ll be losing Jordan Wright after next season and have Santa Clara transfer Carlos Stewart for a couple of years if he’s good enough to play at the SEC level. This is an option where Miller could find a large role as a freshman.
Oregon Ducks
Oregon has a lot of pieces on the roster that could be leaving after next season. Veterans Jermaine Couisnard, Keeshawn Barthelemy, Jesse Zarzuela, and Kario Oquendo are all 4th and 5th-year guards and that doesn’t even include Kwame Evans and Mookie Cook, two five-star freshmen wings. Miller could very well have a starting role if he picks this option, though it’s not clear what the overall roster will look like.
USC Trojans
The Trojans have a four-star shooting guard commitment in the 2024 class already in Liam Campbell. However, with Boogie Ellis entering his final year and five-star guard Isaiah Collier likely leaving after one season, there’s definitely room for Miller to join the group as well. What happens with four-star freshman Bronny James could be a factor as well but it’ll take a while to know what his long-term status will be.
