Memphis Tigers

The Tigers roster is filled with upperclassmen, thanks to the transfer portal. Caleb Mills and Jaykwon Walton have just one year left, while incoming freshmen, Carl Cherenfant and Javonte Taylor are currently unproven. Considering how much roster construction Memphis does late each offseason, it’s hard to see what kind of playing time Richmond can get. But considering the family ties, expect them to have a real shot in this sweepstakes.

Miami Hurricanes

Even after losing ACC Player of the Year Isaiah Wong, the Hurricanes still managed to bring in a few capable international guards in Kyshawn George and Paul George. Plus, there’s still Wooga Poplar and Jakai Robinson on the roster as well. Miami is also after the likes of Gicarri Harris and Jaeden Mustaf but a case can be made the point guard and center are even bigger priorities for them.

Texas Longhorns

The Longhorns got good news a week ago, landing five-star shooting guard prospect, Cam Scott. A case can be made that they still have another spot for a top-tier shooting guard since incoming transfers, Ithiel Horton and Max Abmas, both have just one year left. They do have four-star combo guard Chris Johnson but he’s more likely to play on the ball.

Assuming that former five-star prospect Dillon Mitchell goes pro after next season, Texas could have a lineup featuring both Scott and Richmond since they have size. The one question is whether or not new head coach Rodney Terry is the true long-term option and one that recruits can trust.
