Patriot League Basketball: Ranking of 25 best players from last decade (2013-23)
By Joey Loose
4. Nana Foulland
A 6’9 center from Reading, Pennsylvania, Foulland settled into a pretty impressive role in Bucknell’s frontcourt during his college days. He was the Bison’s frontcourt leader from the beginning, starting nearly all of the 134 games he played at Bucknell, starting back in 2014. He’d win some awards, put up great production, and even feature in a couple of NCAA Tournaments.
He was already good for double-digit points per game as a freshman and took a slight step forward as a sophomore with his production. Foulland’s junior year was extremely impressive, as he’d average 15.0 points and 7.8 rebounds and would lead Bucknell to regular season and tournament titles in the Patriot League. He put up similar production as a senior and had some nice performances, including a 30-point performance against La Salle, helping get the Bison to the Big Dance again.
We mentioned that his junior year was impressive and the conference agreed, as Foulland was named both Patriot League Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year. He led the conference in field goal percentage and blocks that season and was one of the best scorers and rebounds throughout his upperclassman years. He’d play a major role in two trips to the NCAA Tournament and certainly developed into an impactful piece in recent memory in this conference.
