9. Cam Christon

Christon is a 6’6 wing from Allen, Texas who began his collegiate career over at Boise State in the Mountain West. His time there would be brief, as he’d leave the Broncos after scoring just 28 points in half a season. After sitting out as a transfer, he arrived at Grambling State in 2019 and would play four years with the Tigers, taking advantage of his bonus year from the pandemic.

Nearly a double-digit scorer in that first season at Grambling, Christon emerged as a major factor for the Tigers after the start of the pandemic. He averaged at least 13 points per game in his final three seasons and was a solid 3-point shooter, peaking at 40% for his senior season, while scoring 26 points in a game as a junior in the SWAC Tournament. In his fourth and final year, Christon led Grambling State to the SWAC regular season title and a 24-win season, though the Tigers fell short of making the Big Dance.

After being named Second Team All-SWAC as a junior and senior, Christon earned SWAC Player of the Year honors in his final collegiate campaign. He was a solid scorer and rebounder and led the SWAC in true shooting percentage in that last year. He certainly found his footing with the Tigers and was a major part of that regular season title this past season.
