WCC Basketball: Ranking of 25 best players from last decade (2013-23)
By Joey Loose
16. Kevin Pangos
A 6’2 point guard from Ontario, Pangos played his entire college career at Gonzaga, dating back to 2011. The full-time starter for that entire four-year stretch, Pangos was actually WCC Rookie of the Year and was an impactful presence from the beginning for Mark Few’s program. We’re only able to focus on his upperclassman years today, but that’s still plenty of buzz.
In year in Spokane, Pangos put up 14.4 points and 3.6 assists per game, having his best offensive season which included a career-high 34-point effort against Arkansas. He actually shot at least 40% from outside the arc in all four seasons, peaking at a 43% mark as a senior. Additionally, he’d help lead Gonzaga to the Elite Eight in that senior season, scoring in double-figures in all three NCAA Tournament games.
Not only was Pangos named First Team All-WCC in those last two seasons, he was actually the league’s Player of the Year as a senior. He spent his collegiate career establishing himself not only as a fantastic long-range shooter but as a great ball distributor and leader for the Bulldogs. Among a slew of impressive Gonzaga players from recent seasons, Pangos stands out for those shooting numbers and other performances, ending his career on a high note.
