NCAA Basketball Recruiting: Analyzing top 7 teams for top-30 forward Khani Rooths
The NCAA Basketball Recruiting class of 2024 is heating up when it comes to high-level prospects, with more and more decisions looming. The latest now comes from Khani Rooths, a consensus top-40 prospect that even some recruiting services have as a five-star caliber player.
Rooths is a 6’8 wing, originally from Maryland (Washington D.C.). He now is in Florida, playing for the nationally prestigious IMG Academy. He’s a very interesting prospect in that he can defend up to four positions on the court, thanks to his versatility and ability to move fluidly. The wing also has a good offensive game and can score within mid-range.
Rooths has had plenty of interest nationally and now we know which teams to focus on, with a list of options available. It features a couple of expected names but also potentially some surprise contenders as well.
Here’s a look at how Rooths would fit with each program from a roster standpoint.
Florida State Seminoles
The Seminoles have one commit in the 2024 class and it’s actually someone is Rooths position in AJ Swinton, a four-star combo foward. The wings is where the ACC team needs to focus on, as there’s a chance they’ll lose but Cam’Ron Fletcher and VCU transfer, Jamir Watkins. Coach Leonard Hamilton loves having versatility throughout his lineups and Rooths and what he offers would make this an ideal fit on both sides.
