St. John’s Basketball: Top-100 commit Jaiden Glover part of future guard core
New St. John’s Basketball head coach Rick Pitino lands his second commit in the 2024 class. What does Jaiden Glover add to the Red Storm?
It’s been a roaring start to the St. John’s Basketball era for new head coach, Rick Pitino. He’s landed a ton of talented new transfers this offseason to rebuild the 2023-24 roster and become competitive in Big East play again. But he’s also been busy on the recruiting trail to work on the future recruiting class.
The Red Storm has been after a number of prospects and already landed Lefteris Liotopoulos in the class. And now, the program landed another perimeter player in Jaiden Glover, a consensus four-star prospect that’s ranked in the top-50 overall.

Glover is a 6’6 big guard, capable of playing both the 2 and 3-spots on the court. He’s from Newark, New Jersey so this is considered a “local” commit for the program. They’re getting a natural shooter/scorer that can have an impact on Day 1 and has the size to be disruptive on the defensive end as well.
Glover joins another young guard on the roster in Simeon Wicher, a top-40 commit that was also from the 2024 class that reclassified to play this season. Although the odds aren’t great that he’ll have a giant impact, due to how many veteran guards are already on the roster.
The good news is that guys like Sean Conway, Jordan Dingle, and Naheim Alleyne, and Chris Ledlum are all entering their last years in college basketball, meaning that there’s plenty of minutes available for the next group of players.
That’ll include Glover, who is the latest positive piece of momentum for the program. And both Wilcher and Glover can play together on the perimeter as well. Not only are they good for this upcoming season but they’ll be good for the future as well.
