Schedule Outlook

Stanford gets to stay at home early on, with their first four games against mid-major foes in Palo Alto. There’s no guarantee the Cardinal will get through these games unscathed, with intriguing matchups against Santa Clara and Eastern Washington in the mix.

The Cardinal then head to the Bahamas for the Battle for Atlantis, taking place November 22nd through 24th. They get a really tough matchup with Arkansas then play either Memphis or Michigan in the second game before a third matchup in three days that Friday. This will certainly be the first major challenge for Haase’s crew.

When they return home, there’s only three more nonconference matchups on the schedule, including very winnable home dates with San Diego and Idaho. Things get much tougher on December 21st as the Cardinal head to San Diego State, facing off with an Aztecs squad that played in the national championship game last year.

Pac-12 play starts in the final weekend of December and it’s no easy task for the Cardinal. They’ll host the Arizona squads before New Year’s and then travel to Los Angeles to play UCLA and USC. Stanford gets just a single look at Oregon (at home) and Colorado (on the road) and end the season against rival Cal on March 7th. This is the final season of the Pac-12 in its current form and will be the last look Stanford has at many of these teams on a regular basis.
