Throughout the offseason, there were a number of key prospects in the 2024 NCAA Basketball recruiting class that had made respective decisions. One was Flory Bidunga, a five-star big man and arguably the best center prospect in the entire class. His decision helped open things up for other top guys such as Patrick Ngongba II.

From Fairfax, Virginia, Ngongba is a 6’11 center that has risen up the rankings in the past year. He has all the physical tools to be successful and has grown in his all-around game. That includes on offense, with the potential to stretch the floor a bit. And he’s likely going to be the best frontcourt athlete in most games he plays in college.

A few months ago, Ngongba announced a list of eight teams in contention. Since then, he’s gone on a couple of visits to Michigan and Kentucky. And in the next few weeks, the five-star prospect is set to visit Kansas State, Duke, and UConn. If the reports are true that a decision could come within the next month, that’s probably bad news for teams such as Providence, Kansas, and Indiana, who were part of the original list.

Barring a surprise development, it looks as if it’s going to be down to the five programs Ngongba his taking a closer look at. So let’s also take out own look at how he’d fit with each option, looking at both the pros and cons of each.
