NCAA Basketball: Top 15 impact high-major JUCO transfers for 2023-24 season
15. Nate Meithof – Oregon State Beavers
2022-23 season stats (College of Southern Idaho): 16.5 ppg and 5.5 rpg
The 6’5 guard shot 52% from the field last season, including 38% from deep. Meithof was in double figures for 28 of 31 games, which included a 29-point effort against Laramie County in overtime. Oregon State will need his offense in a big way, after ranking in the bottom-5 in all of scoring in NCAA Basketball. Adding Meithof to the rotation along with Dexter Akanno and Jordan Pope gives the team a needed boost in an effort to get the Beavers back towards being respective in the Pac-12.
*Will be out for the 2023-24 campaign due to a torn ACL.
14. Carlous Williams – Tulsa Golden Hurricanes
2022-23 season stats (Pearl River): 16.5 ppg and 6.7 rpg
Williams is a 6’7 combo forward who has the potential to space the floor and was an all-league performer in PR’s respective conference last season, including a 25-point effort against Coahoma. Williams will effectively be the replacement for Tim Dalger, the double-digit scorer who transferred out to Saint Louis. Tulsa finished dead last in the AAC last season and lost most of its frontcourt rotation so there’s a good chance Williams will get on the court.
13. Jadrian Tracey – Oregon Ducks
2022-23 season stats (Florida Southwestern State): 14.4 ppg and 5.7 rpg
The 6’5 guard/wing originally started at St. Joe’s and was part of the rotation as a freshman. He was an effective contributor at Florida Southwestern, shooting over 40% from three-point range and went for 34 points against State College of Florida. He hopes to be another effective JUCO transfer that works out at Oregon and is part of a new batch of wing newcomers, joining five-star freshmen, Mookie Cook and KJ Evans. Having some D-I experience, Tracey could have a chance to carve out his own role.
