9. Keyondre Young – DePaul Blue Demons

2022-23 season stats (Triton): 10.7 ppg and 4.9 rpg

A hand injury ended his time at Valpo but he’s an intriguing prospect, listed at 6’8 and around 190 pounds. Young had some big games at Triton, including a 25-point game (7/11 from deep) against Harry S. Truman College. He’s a versatile big guard who joins a DePaul squad in desperate need of talent. He and former five-star prospect Elijah Fisher will be needed impact players to get them out of the bottom of the Big East.

8. Chris Coleman – UAB Blazers

2022-23 season stats (South Plains): 16.0 ppg and 8.0 rpg

The 6’9 forward was in double figures in all but two games for the JUCO powerhouse last season. He went for 30 points and 10 rebounds against New Mexico Junior College, along with 25 versus Adams State JV. Outside of forward Javian Davis, the rest of the frontcourt is gone for the Blazers. Depending on how UNC transfer Will Shaver looks at his new spot, Coleman could/should have a large role in the rotation as well.

7. Jaquan Scott – Mississippi State Bulldogs

2022-23 season stats (Salt Lake): 16.8 ppg and 10.0 rpg

The 6’9 power forward was limited to just 22 games but was highly effective when he was on the court. Scott had a 31-point effort against Southern Idaho and even shot 38% from deep on around three attempts a game. His presence at Mississippi State became suddenly very important this season after star big man Tolu Smith suffered an injury that’ll keep him out for the first two months of the season. That presents an opportunity for someone like Scott to have a larger than expected frontcourt role.
