18. Johnny Furphy – Kansas Jayhawks

2022-23 season stats: N/A

Furphy is a 6’7 true wing from Australia who’s been a standout on the international scene. He’s a legit scorer who can shoot and could be a starter as a freshman if Kevin McCullar moves to the two-spot. However, there’s a good chance that he’s the 4th or 5th option on offense and not have much of an impact this upcoming season.

17. Tyler Wahl – Wisconsin Badgers

2022-23 season stats: 11.3 ppg and 6.3 rpg

The 6’9 forward is back for a 5th year after a season of ups and downs on offense. Wahl did have several big performances, including 23 points and 10 rebounds against Kansas, along with 19 and 10 versus Ohio State. He has a chance to be a focal point for the Badgers but if it’s another balanced effort, Wahl won’t have the numbers to be a finalist.

16. Dalton Knecht – Tennessee Volunteers

2022-23 season stats (at Northern Colorado): 20.2 ppg and 7.2 rpg

As a full-time starter, Knecht doubled his production as a season, earning a Big Sky selection. He comes to Tennessee, a team that has had issues at times on offense. His scoring production will take a dip but if the team is in the top-10 range and he happens to lead them in scoring, Knecht’s odds will be much better than just scoring 20 ppg for a Big Sky team.
