10. Mark Sears – Alabama

Formerly a star at Ohio, Sears showed plenty of potential last season in his first year at Alabama. While his stats last season didn’t quite match a masterful sophomore season with the Bobcats, Sears adjusted relatively well to life in the SEC, averaging 12.5 points per game while remaining a solid outside shooter and elite presence from the charity stripe.

This was Brandon Miller’s team last season, but Sears was the second-leading scorer and now looks like the veteran, as the Crimson Tide have seemingly rebuilt this roster around him. He’ll be depended on even further, giving Sears more opportunities to show off his talents as a scorer. If Alabama has another great season, then it’s likely that Sears’ potential is being realized.

9. DJ Wagner – Kentucky

A 5-star combo guard originally from New Jersey, Wagner is another very exciting freshman piece for this Kentucky team. As previously mentioned, he’s part of the top-ranked recruiting class in the nation, meaning there’s plenty of young talent for these Wildcats, but how exactly does Wagner factor into the equation?

Another Top 10 piece, Wagner plays the point but projects more as a shooting guard with his ability to shine as a flashy scorer. He’ll certainly put those around him in a better position to success and we’ll have to see how his game grows across what’s likely his only season of college ball. Expect to see him taken in the 2024 NBA Draft, but not before some highlights under John Calipari.
