20. TCU Horned Frogs

It wasn’t just the guards that were gone from last season’s Horned Frog rosters, as both true centers had also left. Starting big man Eddie Lampkin left the team before the season ended, while Souleymane Doumbia transferred out as well. Yet the team was able to keep all three forwards from going anywhere, including its top frontcourt option.

Emanuel Miller was second on the team with 12.3 ppg last year, along with leading them with 6.5 rpg. The 6’7 forward shot 51% from the field overall, along with five games of at least 20 points. JaKobe Coles (8.6 ppg and 4.0 rpg) was an underrated key piece on the team and is back again, along with 6’9 forward, Xavier Cork.

Two big names also join TCU, including former five-star prospect, Ernest Udeh Jr. The transfer from Kansas showed flashes in limited minutes as a freshman and should start at center. Essam Mostafa is a 6’9 center from Coastal Carolina who averaged 12.4 ppg and 10.0 rpg last season, including a pair of 16-rebound games.

In a Big 12 that’s going to have a ton of physical bigs throughout the year, it’s nice to have the kind of depth that TCU has. Ideally though, they’ll need someone besides Miller to be an offensive threat for them. If one of Udeh or Mostafa can be a quality center option, they’ll be back in the postseason mix.
