Big East Basketball: Ranking of top 5 big men for 2023-24 season
By John Makuch
Big East Basketball has had its long history of big men playing at a high level, and this year that history continues to be written. That is also what can help separate these teams within this conference and from teams across the country.
When you look at this conference and its big men, they have pushed many of these teams not just to conference success, but national success as well. When it came to the National Championship UConn Huskies, having Adama Sanogo on that team is what truly put them over the edge and allowed them to go on a run for a title.
Teams like Creighton and Xavier were also able to find their success on the backs of the guys who did a ton of the dirty work down low. But this conference also has big men that can handle a scoring load when called upon, yes there is elite guard play, but big men that can create, and score under the rim is an addition that can be tough to come by.
Watching these battles is something that makes the Big East so enjoyable, and this year is no different when it comes to the quality of big men duels that we are going to have the opportunity to witness as the season is quickly approaching.
So who are the top five guys in this conference? And how should we expect them to make impacts on their respective teams this upcoming season of play?
