Schedule Breakdown

As a new roster still developing chemistry on and off the court, the Rhode Island Rams will have to jump through obstacles matching up against some opponents on their schedule; however, URI’s roster improved this offseason, which should leave Rhody fans optimistic about what will come this season.

Not only did the Rams’ roster improve, but Coach Miller will be more comfortable in year two with the program. It is always challenging for a first-year head coach to jump into a brand-new job, but after a year under Archie’s belt in Kingston, we can expect things to go a lot smoother. Miller also understands how to lead in the Atlantic 10 Conference after coaching the Dayton for six years and helping the Flyers reach the Elite Eight in 2014.

The Rhode Island Rams open their 2023-24 season at home on Monday, Nov. 6, at the Ryan Center against the Central Connecticut State Blue Devils. URI is 19-2 in home openers since the venue opened in the 2002-03 season. Rhody’s season-opener will be followed up by two more games at home against Fairfield and Wagner.

The Rams will then compete in the Hall of Fame Tip-Off at Mohegan Sun Arena against Northwestern on Nov. 18 and then either Mississippi State or Washington State before returning home to face Johnson & Wales and Yale.

URI will then travel up the road to play its annual Ocean State rivalry game with Providence, which will be then followed up with another in-state rivalry game against Brown at home. Following a meeting with the Bears, the Rams will travel to the College of Charleston.

On Dec. 16, URI will head down to Elmont, NY, to face the Delaware Blue Hens at UBS Arena, home of the National Hockey League’s New York Islanders, in the Holiday Hoopfest. The Rams wrap up non-conference play with two games at home against New Hampshire and Northeastern. Rhode Island will host Saint Joseph’s on Jan. 3 to start conference play.

Finally, the Rams will head down to Brooklyn, NY, to compete in the Atlantic 10 tournament from Mar. 12 through 17th at the Barclays Center.
