8. Kansas Jayhawks

Coach Bill Self just got another contract extension and it’s well deserved, considering that he’s on track for another top-5 recruiting class. He won arguably the most high-profile competitive recruitment in the Summer in Flory Bidunga, a five-star and top-10 center prospect. Kansas was able to beat out both Auburn and Duke for his services.

The Jayhawks have two other top-50 commits in guard Labaron Philon and small forward Rakease Passmore, filling two other areas of need. They’re also in the final cuts for a couple of other five-star targets but likely will stand pat with this group entering the Spring.

7. Notre Dame Fighting Irish

New Coach Micah Shrewsberry has been very busy with the 2024 class, landing a trio of four-star commits. The biggest name is Sir Mohammed, a four-star wing ranked around the top 50. Cole Certa is a quality three-pointer shooter ranked in the top 100, while forward Garrett Sundra fits his preferred style of floor-spacing and capable bigs that can shoot.

It’s understood that Notre Dame is going to struggle with the current roster that’s constructed. But if some of the current pieces can become key parts of the future combined with what’s already in the 2024 class, look for the Irish to make a quick climb up of the ACC standings shortly.
