Southeast Missouri Redhawks face a formidable challenge as Tyon Grant-Foster and the Grand Canyon offense dominate in an 88-67 victory.

In what seemed like a one-man show, Tyon Grant-Foster of the Grand Canyon Antelopes took center stage in delivering a stellar performance with what felt like a dominant win over the Southeast Missouri State Redhawks. Grant-Foster with his 30 points, led Grand Canyon to an 88-67 victory on an electric opening night of college basketball. Grant-Foster’s dominance extended beyond offense, as he also contributed a solid defensive outing with three steals and four rebounds to help bolster the Antelopes.

The Southeast Missouri State Redhawks struggled to contain Tyon Grant-Foster and the Grand Canyon offense, resulting in an underwhelming defensive performance. Grant-Foster’s 30-point outburst, coupled with the Antelopes’ offensive efficiency, posed a significant challenge that the Redhawks were unable to overcome, leading to their underperformance in stopping the opposing team’s attack.

Isaiah Shaw also helped in the win by showcasing his sharpshooting skills, hitting 4 of 7 field goals, including 3 of 5 from beyond the arc, accumulating 13 points. Duke Brennan was equally impressive, adding 12 points to the scoreboard while maintaining an impressive shooting record, going 5 for 6 and converting 2 of 3 free throws.

SEMO’s Adam Larson led the charge for the Redhawks, contributing 13 points. Meanwhile, Josh Earley was a defensive force for Southeast Missouri State, accumulating four steals that disrupted the opponent’s rhythm and added ten valuable points on the scoreboard.

TJ Biel, not to be outdone, made a meaningful contribution with his eight points, adding depth to the Redhawks’ offensive efforts. Collectively, these players exemplified Southeast Missouri State’s determination and teamwork, although it wasn’t enough to overcome Tyon Grant-Foster’s exceptional performance for Grand Canyon, which ultimately secured the victory for the Antelopes.
