Get The Freshmen Going

DeShawn Harris-Smith was the talk of the town for Maryland basketball heading into the new campaign, as people expected him to be an integral part of this team’s success. While showing signs of his athletic explosiveness, he has gotten off to a rocky start. He is just 1/9 from deep to start the year while averaging 11ppg.

I wouldn’t be concerned about him if I were a Maryland fan, he has shown extreme explosiveness, but it appears as though it will take him a little bit more time to adjust to the college game. If they want a chance to win, DHS will need to get going.

Jamie Kaiser Jr. is another freshman who was expected to have an impact for the Terrapins. Something they struggled with last year was three point shooting, and they are again off to a horrible start from beyond the arc. Kaiser was expected to alleviate some of those struggles, coming off the bench to knock down a few threes per game, but he is just 2/9 to start the year.

The freshman for this team need to get going, whether it be increased assertiveness, or just drawing up some plays to get them open looks.
