NCAA Basketball: Game picks for Day 10 of the 2023-24 season
By Bryan Mauro
On the Eve of Holiday tournaments the slate is not terribly exciting. There are some NCAA Basketball games with huge upset potential. Otherwise, it is a lot of tune ups for the grind of non-conference schedule in December.
Are you not entertained? The first major day of competition for NCAA Basketball did not disappoint. There were a ton of upsets and some that I picked like UMass Lowell over Georgia Tech. To a lesser extent Santa Clara beat Stanford, that game is an upset depending on who you ask.
The most surprising upset was Illinois-Chicago over Loyola-Chicago. The Ramblers were supposed to be a factor in the Atlantic 10 this season, and while its still early they have left a lot to be desired. USC was ranked 16 in the country but come Monday they likely won’t be ranked anymore after losing to UC Irvine on their home floor. Yesterday was the day all every college basketball junkie loved.
In my picks I went 46-12 yesterday which gives me a 317-78 total through the first 9 days of the season. Day 10 is a lighter slate as it is the eve of holiday tournaments getting kicked off. That means that there will be day basketball for the next week as the tournaments get started. The Gavitt Tipoff Games continue today and there is one ranked team in action. Otherwise, it is looking like a lot of lopsided games for the power schools. The picks for Day 10 on November 15, 2023, are below.
Virginia Tech over Campbell
Seton Hall over Albany
Nicholls over Denver
Delaware over Delaware State
Cleveland State over Canisius
Richmond over Boston College
Louisville over Coppin State
Fairleigh Dickinson over Saint Peter’s
Duquesne over Princeton
Charlotte over Utah Valley
East Carolina over South Carolina-Upstate
Ohio State over Merrimack
South Florida over Central Michigan
VCU over Radford
Loyola MD over Binghamton
Cornell over George Mason
Southeast Missouri State over Evansville
FIU over Houston Christian
Nebraska over Stony Brook
Maryland Eastern Shore over Longwood
Illinois State over Eastern Illinois
Rutgers over Georgetown
Texas over Rice
BYU over Southeastern Louisiana
Portland over Tennessee State
Seattle over Northern Arizona
UCLA over Long Island
Nevada over Pacific
Fresno State over Morgan State
There are some games that have some upset potential tonight. Richmond and Boston College is one that comes to mind. Duquesne and Princeton is the best overall game of the night. That game appears to be between two top teams in their respective conferences. Rutgers needs to beat Georgetown tonight for the sake of the Big Ten and their overall power rankings. Otherwise, it should be a lot of favorites winning tonight. If you like to bet spreads take UCLA on the points against Long Island.
