9. Creighton (4-0)

Masterful work in recent years by Greg McDermott has Creighton basketball in a fantastic position. One of the nation’s best starting fives led the Bluejays to the Elite Eight last season. This year’s squad looks a little different, but Creighton still boasts a fantastic starting lineup that has already paid off in a big way this season.

The Bluejays got by far their most impressive win of the season on Tuesday night, beating Iowa 92-84 as part of the Gavitt Tipoff Games. Trey Alexander neared a triple-double with 23 points, 11 rebounds, and 9 assists in the win while Baylor Scheierman added 17 points. Their game on Saturday was business as usual, with a simple 82-50 win against Texas Southern. Scheierman had 23 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists while Alexander had 20 points, 8 assists, and 7 rebounds.

Creighton has put forth four impressive performances, especially on the offensive side. While newcomer Steven Ashworth is still finding his groove, the three returning starters for the Bluejays are all playing excellent basketball once again. The next challenge for Creighton is the Hall of Fame Classic in Kansas City with winnable matchups against Loyola Chicago and then either Boston College or Colorado State.
