NCAA Basketball: Kentucky, Arkansas fall in latest top 25 power ranking

2. Kansas (3-0)
Based on the offseason moves and what talent returned to Lawrence there was plenty of reason for monster expectations for these Jayhawks. After all, Kansas did just cut down the nets less than two years ago and may have a team just as talented this year. Kansas actually faced a tough challenge this week but came out on top, continuing a satisfactory start to the season.
That lone contest was in Chicago at the Champions Classic, where Kansas got an 89-84 victory against a ranked Kentucky squad that actually led by seven at the break. The Jayhawks fought back in the second half and got a signature win early in the year. The stars were in full form for Kansas, who got 27 points and 21 rebounds from Hunter Dickinson in a phenomenal performance on the big stage. Dajuan Harris Jr. added 23 points while Kevin McCullar Jr. had a triple-double in the win.
After two easy blowout wins, Kansas showed up when it mattered most against a legitimate opponent and sit unblemished after two weeks. These Jayhawks truly are what we expected and the play of both Dickinson and Harris has been enormous. Not that Kentucky was easy by any means, but next week is no joke, as the Jayhawks head overseas for the Maui Invitational, beginning with a laugher against Chaminade, with the potential for two ranked matchups after that.
