20. San Diego State (3-1)

History was made at San Diego State last season as the Aztecs advanced all the way to the national championship game for the first time in program history. Some important pieces from that run are gone, but you better believe that Brian Dutcher and company still have the talent to make noise again this season, especially with how Jaedon LeDee is playing early in the year.

After falling out of the rankings with a loss at BYU last week, the Aztecs bounced back with an 88-76 win over Long Beach State back on Tuesday. LeDee had 27 points and 11 rebounds in an efficient performance in the win. Their performance on Friday more than made up for last week, as San Diego State pounded Saint Mary’s 79-54 as part of the Continental Tire Main Event outside of Las Vegas. The offense was excellent, the defense was great, and LeDee led the way with 25 points and 8 rebounds.

Now four games into the season, the Aztecs boast an impressive 25-point win over a team many expected to be a legitimate contender, while their only loss is on the road to a Big 12 school. LeDee is playing like a superstar for this San Diego State squad that looks to win the Main Event on Sunday against Washington. They’ll play another Pac-12 school later in the week, getting a winnable contest against California next Saturday.
